Thoughts cause feelings.

I spent some time with my mother. Her mother, my grandmother had just died. I felt triggered, had an emotional response to her. I identified her actions and words as my circumstances. I was aware of my feelings (I felt paralyzed).

I tried to find the thought, but I couldn’t. Is it possible that, since she is my mother, that I have a pre-thought reaction to her? The way babies/children learn about 50% of their emotional reactions in the first 2 years of their life.

How to deal with emotional reactions that are seem to go beyond thoughts? How can the model be applied here?
