I have a question that’s been on my mind for a while. Then I listened to the latest podcast about Pure Circumstance (which I loved!) and it seemed to touch on this same topic. So, here goes…
I know Brooke has learned from Eckhart Tolle and possibly other enlightened teachers. Does Brooke believe it’s theoretically possible to “transcend” The Model by reaching a point where you can observe thoughts without being triggered. Here’s what Eckhart Tolle said in his book, The Power of Now:
“Can you be free of your mind whenever you want to? Have you found the “off” button?”
Now, I realize that there are exceptionally few enlightened beings in the world and most of us “normal” humans are subject to The Model. But curious to know whether Brooke and the team believe this is even feasible?
PS: I’ve had experiences where I’ve become more than the Watcher and felt a deep sense of connection with the world and joy. At these times, my thoughts (briefly!) have no power over me. This happens occasionally when I’m meditating or sitting still and observing my thoughts. It’s fleeting but tantalizing. Any thoughts on this? Thank you 🙂
