True Desires vs Thoughts


How do we tell if the thoughts we are having are a deep desire vs just a thought floating by. I have something “wants” that seems to come back. If we can choose which thoughts to believe, how do you decide which ones to go after?

C Had the Thought “I want to renovate my kitchen”
T It’s just a thought. I can believe something else.
F Agreement? (I don’t have a strong physical reaction, it’s more “yes that’s right, I can believe either thoughts kitchen vs no kitchen”
A stay in indecision about which thought to believe (kitchen Reno vs no Reno). Go back and forth yes kitchen or no. Plan the kitchen but don’t purchase. Think I can be happy with what I have because it’s my choice what to believe.
R Don’t give myself the opportunity to make a decision? Don’t trust myself?
