Understanding the urge jar

I am using the urge jar and eating protocol tools to lose 20 pounds and I want to be sure I am understanding urges correctly. As an example, I was hungry this morning prior to my eating window, but I have two “go to” thoughts I am using when that happens. 1) there is nothing wrong with being hungry, 2) I am “dining in” and using up fat on my body to fuel me right now.

Those both are working to keep me on my protocol, so I have resisted eating outside of my protocol when I get hungry. Is that moving through an urge? Is that worthy of putting a bead in the jar? Sometimes it feels too easy, other times it is challenging. Does it matter if it feels easy or challenging?
