Urge for the day

I’m getting better at allowing urges!
My question is: is it okay to have consistent thoughts about the urges I allowed? Is it part of the deconditioning?
For example, I allowed an urge to eat cake for 10 minutes without resisting it. The thing is: I keep on thinking of that little piece of cake I did not eat! Even while doing something else after.
Of course, I prefer to think of something else, to have drama about something more useful!
Can you recommend me a few great questions to ask myself, please?
