Urge jar steps, weighing and baby steps

Hello! I just joined and am excited to get started in May. I joined to learn more about using the urge jar as I really believe it will help me with my non-hunger eating between meals and emotional overeating. However, I want to take it in baby steps and see how I feel after I master each “level”. Is it possible to do it WITHOUT weighing myself? Also, I want to do it first to stop eating between meals and overeating AT meals (getting seconds, etc.). I am not interested in changing WHAT I eat or weighing myself initially. Is that ok?
