My son will play video games from the time he wakes up to the time he goes to bed if we let him. He is a 10-year-old and very motivated to play as much as he absolutely can each day. He gets mad when asked to do his chores and claims he just “needs a break.” I feel annoyed and like a bad parent when he plays too much, but when I tell him to get off the game he gets mad at me and pushes me away no matter how nice I am about letting him know that he has played enough for the day. And by enough, I mean we let him play for hours each day. I’m not quite sure how to fix this problem.
