How does the model work with a thought that’s incorrect?

For example, the thought: If I kiss him, it will relieve the sexual tension and we’ll be able to get over this situation — the situation being strong sexual attraction between two people, one of whom is married. I had the thought that easing the sexual tension would end the sexual tension and allow me to think/act clearly. I realized later (after the kiss) that I was fooling myself.
