When to allow emotion and when to do thought work? – Part 2

Part of answer to previous question: “If you want to rush to a new thought, it’s probably because you are resisting the emotion rather than allowing it to process through you…”

How do I allow an emotion to process through me? This is what I do:

1. Check in with the emotion that’s present and be conscious of its presence
2. Name it and describe what it feels like in my body
3. Be curious about the emotion
4. Ask myself what are the thoughts that are causing it

Is that processing/allowing the emotion?
