I think that I have a good work ethic. I’m reliable and believe I’m a person who does what I say I’m going to do. So far so good. The problem is that it’s fueled by anxiety. My model is along the lines of:
C: work task
T: if I don’t do a good job I’ll feel shame
A: worry, plan and prepare, prioritize work over personal time, work long hours
R: Avoid shame but at my own expense (depleted, neglect other priorities)
I’ve been trying the intentional T “I’m a person who gets it done” fueling commitment, but I still overwork.
Do you have any suggestions on how I might tackle this differently? Thank you!
