allowing vs indulging when wp

yay so this is my first time posting a Q here
So I was doing my thought work today in the book… I see that it asks if the emotion is indulgent or we should allow… Upon further self reflection I notice “most” of my “negative” unwanted emotions are in fact indulgent, even if someone does something very unethical I am still allowing thoughts that make me feel angry. I see that as indulgent. Can you explain a bit further the usefulness in allowing anger, or a negative emotion vs calling recognizing I am indulging in something. then applying intentional model. I can say wow I’m mad then I see well you are indulging in a thought that has me feel anger… appropriate sadness fells more clear experience loss miss person feel sad allow can you clarify this a bit for me.
