Allowing sadness

How do you allow sadness without crying? Everytime I think about leaving my boyfriend to go home (we’re long distance and have been living together for the past 4 months in his country), K burst out crying with the thoughts “I miss him”, “I don’t want to go” because the next time I’ll see my love in person is in 6 months’ time.

If I’m crying everytime I think these thoughts, does that mean I’m not calmly allowing sadness? I’m not ignoring the sadness but am I allowing it too much?
