When I was 13, I was sexually abused for almost a year. I’ve been in SCS for almost 1 1/2 years, and I always thought of that as a circumstance, and then what I made that mean to be the thought. I perceived it as a circumstance because it’s a statement that everyone in a court of law would agree upon.
But should the acts themselves be the circumstance, and then the thought I could have is “I was sexually abused”?
In what ways could seeing the abuse as a thought instead of a fact be beneficial? In what ways may me seeing it as a circumstance be holding me back?
Just exploring.
Thanks!
