Circumstance Or Thought?

I was in a conversation with my mother in law about her ex-husband. I was practicing some model work with her just for my own learning and hoping to bring some enlightenment for her. She fully believed that her ex-husband is a narcissist and that it’s a fact. I fully believed it was an opinion because it was her interpretation of his actions that she decided he was such. I’m not going to share what the model was for her since I don’t believe it’s my place. I was just curious, though, as to whether someone’s actions that “support” the definition of a word makes it a fact or an opinion. As I’m writing this out. I think a fact or circumstance would be “person does such” and the thought would be “person is a narcissist”. Am I on the right track?
