"Clean" Reasons to break up with someone or let someone go.

I have heard Brooke say “I don’t want to” is a good enough reason to not do something/ or decide to do something. In my experience “I don’t want to” is usually followed by a reason. “Ex. I don’t want to lose weight because…”

So I bring this up because I am thinking about breaking up with my long term boyfriend who I live with. But according to this work I could just do thought work and stay with this person.

My question is: How do I make sure my reasons for breaking up are coming from a “clean” place? What are “clean reasons” to break up with someone? How do I know if I should just do more thought work or if I need to make a decision about my future relationship with someone?

Brooke, why do you fire people instead of doing thought work about them in your company? (referring to your podcast about firing people) How do you know when it’s time to let someone go vs time to recommit to the person and change your thoughts?

Thank you <3
