Day 9 Homework: Allergic reaction

Hi Brooke,
I’m working on how to tell a great story for what wasn’t a great experience yesterday.

What happened yesterday: Didn’t take Antihistamine before bed as it makes me so groggy in the morning. I woke up at 23:30 gasping for breath. Took an Antihistamine and slept outside until I could breathe again. Felt scared and frustrated that I don’t know what I’m allergic to.

How can I tell this story so that it’s great?

At the moment I have this: So grateful to have Antihistamines that work quickly to restore my breathing OR I know what is happening so even though I’m afraid I can handle the situation with ease & strength.

My story for the first ER visit was: So lucky that Val came with me. Grateful that there are humans in the world who really care about others.
My story for the second ER visit was: So lucky that I can get to the ER easily, be treated immediately and it doesn’t cost much ‘cos I’m in Mexico!
My story for my third visit to ER: So grateful that the doctor listens to me each time and examines me thoroughly without judgement.

Unintentional Model
C: I’ve been having allergic reactions to something in the last 10 days; three emergency visits to ER because I can’t breathe; on strong Antihistamines which are making me groggy; have a suspected allergy to something and awaiting specialist appointment.
T: I hate feeling groggy
F: Frustrated
A: Don’t take the Antihistamine at night
R: Have an allergic reaction at 11:30pm

C: I’ve been having severe allergic reactions to something in the last 10 days; three emergency visits to ER because I can’t breathe; on strong Antihistamines which are making me very groggy; have a suspected allergy to something and awaiting specialist appointment.
T: So grateful to have Antihistamines that work quickly to restore my breathing.
F: Relief
A: Take the antihistamine regularly; await specialist appointment
R: Take the ‘allergy response’ in my stride

Thank you, Stephanie 🏖
