Eating when hungry vs. intermittent fasting

I’ve been listening to the Stop Overeating Workshop materials, and it is not clear to me how eat only when your are hungry (and eat 2 to 2) works together with intermittent fasting? Is intermittent fasting more important, like if I get hungry out of my eating window I should wait until next window starts? Is eating from 2 to 2 a “beginners version” to tune in to my natural hunger? You mentioned in the videos that you eat 2 meals a day at mostly the same times. Are you always hungry then or when you have a protocol, being hungry at the moment of eating doesn’t matter?
