Focus time as a physician

I am going through the Monday Hour One teaching videos today.

I am a full-time physician. I work Tuesday-Friday. I have appointments scheduled from 9-5 with a break from 12:00-1:30 every day.

I have two kids, ages 7 and 2. I take the 2-year-old to daycare every morning before work.

I wake up at 5:50 AM. I do my gratitude journal, my scholars work, and yoga. I get in the shower by 6:30 AM. I get ready by 7:00 AM. We get the kids ready between 7-7:30 AM. We leave the house at 7:30 AM. I drop my daughter off by 7:50 AM and leave to go to work at 8:00 AM.

Some mornings, I have newborns to see at the hospital. If so, I see newborns between 8:05 AM-8:45 AM. I drive to the office and arrive by 9:00 AM. If I do not have newborns to see, I leave and get to work by 8:15 AM. I meditate in the car until 8:25 AM then go inside. I open my InBasket, clean my area, talk, and get ready for my 9:00 patient. I work, seeing patients, charting, answering phone calls, answering emails/messages, etc until 12:30 PM.

I eat lunch until 1:00 PM. I go on a walk until 1:15-1:20 PM. I go to the bathroom, get more water, etc.

Then I see patients from 1:30-4:45 PM. I finish charting and wrap up loose ends until 5:15 PM then I go pick up my 7-year-old.

We get home by 6:00 PM. My husband is already home with the younger kiddo. We eat dinner as a family. Bath time is 6:30 PM then rest and get both ready for bed from 7:30-8:00 PM. Done by 8:10 PM.

Then I have from 8:10 PM until 10:30 PM to clean up, pack lunches, talk to husband, relax, read, etc. Then bed by 10:30 PM. Lately, I have been falling asleep on the couch and not getting to bed until 11:00 PM.

Here is my question: How can I do focus time daily? Does that apply to me? It really doesn’t seem to, but I do want to create something via writing and the only time I could fit this in would be Mondays (my day off) or weekends. Keep in mind that I am on call about 5 weekends out of the year so it’s not always available. But my Mondays are normally available.
