Your friend who is funnier when she drinks

From the overdrinking coaching call today, regarding your friend that is funnier when she drinks. If I understood what you said on the coaching call, it seems like you think the funniness comes from drinking, and therefore “isn’t her.”

I’m just wondering if that sense of humor is something she could access without drinking. Maybe she really is a funny person who isn’t connecting with her sense of humor when she isn’t drinking.

My bigger question is really about all of us, or me…I’m not a big drinker at all, but when I do drink, it is usually in a social setting. Is drinking alcohol making us (me) someone we are not, or just giving us (me) access to a part of ourselves that we haven’t figured out how to get to without alcohol or sugar or whatever…?
