I recently had a panic attack and am worried about what to do if I feel out of control/panicked again. I have been doing DBT and they talk about distress tolerance skills such as throwing cold water on your face, progressive relaxation, etc as ways to calm down your body physiologically and bring your anxiety level from a 10 down to like a 6 so that then your mind can cope with the 6. I think these are good things to try, but I’m also wondering if it’s possible to use the model or another self coaching skill to bring the anxiety from a 10 to a 6?
