How to NOT indulge

Hello! Twice I’ve seen worksheets asking about our plan to NOT indulge in an particular emotion. Both times I’ve been a little stuck on what to do. I’m thinking that the best I can do is catch myself indulging, explore it, decide how long I’ll let myself indulge, then move on. But I wonder if I’m missing something. Can you give some direction or insight as to what people tend to find helpful?
