Husband’s side business pt 2

My husband has created a side business that I’m excited about. I think it’s a great service and will make us good money. I work full time, I’m studying, I have children and I said I would, and want to, create the marketing plan for this business. I believe it will be fun, I’m good at it and I know we need it. Yet each week I find myself putting it last on the to-do list. I try and use Monday hour one but it’s just not getting done. I’m trying to figure out if there is a block. I can’t see why when I feel positive about it……

ANSWER:
When you think about the marketing plan in general, you’re having one set of thoughts:

It will be fun.
I’m good at it.
I know we need it.
But you are likely having very different thoughts when you write your to-do list. What are the thoughts you are having when you decide to put creating the marketing plan last on your to-do list each week, and how do those thoughts feel? What you discover will reveal the “block” between thinking about it in a general way and actually getting it done.

If you decide that creating this marketing plan is in fact a priority, how can you think about it so that you make sure you schedule working on it into your week?

I put it in my calendar but I let other things get in the way. My daughter needed help with her homework, I was tired etc.  The thoughts I think are I need to get it done but it can wait. It’s not life or death. I’ll get to it tomorrow.
But I don’t want to leave it to the last minute. How do I create my own urgency?
