I tried to get coached live on this, but I just can’t wait to hear what you have to say on this part of my question. I will keep trying to get coached live on my own emotional issues around this topic, because I am so sporadic in my ability to think on purpose around my son’s choices and how to set loving boundaries.
My son has had a rough time throughout his teenage years. He went to military school for 6 months of his freshman year of high school, only to come home more angry and addicted to drugs. We tried 8 counselors, starting from the time he was 8 years old and he has been diagnosed with ADHD, Oppositional Defiance Disorder and Anxiety. After finding Oxycontin in his room his junior year, we sent him to a treatment program for one year.
He has been home for two months, he is graduated from high school, working and taking one class at the community college. Still, he is not following our home rules, which include continued therapy of some kind. I believe that he is therapied-out and wonder if there is a life coach you know of who helps young men get there life started. We all agree that he needs to move out, but he is totally naive to what that means. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have.
SIDE NOTE: Thank you for this program and for your generosity with your knowledge. It has been a huge example to me of how to live from abundance rather than scarcity. I find myself being much more giving and open with what I have and it feels amazing!!!
