Making peace with yourself without demotivating yourself

Hi Brooke,

I understand that it is important to love your body and yourself. However, I worry that doing this will make me accept my overweight body and feel justified in overeating and not working out. I know in the past that when I felt comfortable and confident was when I started piling on weight and not caring. It’s 10 years later and the weight has piled on even more except now I mostly feel insecure. In the last year I have gained about 30 lbs and my family kept pointing out the weight gain but I was in denial and thinking ” i was fine”. So I’m unsure of how to go about this?
