The only thing that I can come up with to measure my urges is to either cause my urges (opening the peanuts bag and breathing it all in, letting myself drool on purpose and not eating them) or follow my protocol. So on my calendar, I’ve got 2 systems: I write P when I have followed my protocol to the T (or to the P ;-)) and a stick for each time I allow an urge on purpose. For the “unintentional” urges, I used to give in and eat but I don’t want to do that any more and some are now so quick to go that I don’t always remember them. Of course, that’s what I want for all of them eventually but I want to be able to see my progress.
