Model on Micro-Management Style


I get triggered by people who tend to want to micro-manage everything. I immediately felt like I needed to do a model on this. Thank you for your feedback.

Unintentional:
C – Boss asked if a change request was submitted on a project and if it was reflected on the project plan
T – He is constantly trying to micro-manage everything! I provide status updates and make sure that things are done within the expected time frame and yet he still keeps doing it.
F – Annoyed
A – I asked him if he had an opportunity to view the project plan and he said no. I reassured him that I am working with my team to ensure that activities are getting done.
R – I continue feeling like he is trying to micro-managing everything even though I provide a status report and so I continue getting annoyed by his behavior.

Intentional:
C – Boss asked if a change request was submitted on a project and if it was reflected on the project plan
T – He is asking because he wanted to confirm that it was done
F – Neutral
A – I understand his curiosity and answer his question. I don’t take his line of questioning on projects as being micro-managed.
R – Since I am the project manager, he is asking me if the change request was submitted so I provide him with a status.
