My mother, food and an upcoming visit

I’m doing great on my protocol (with no flour and no sugar) and losing weight! However, in two weeks my mother is coming to celebrate the Jewish holidays and that means lots of food.

My mother prides herself on her cooking and baking. She will see my not eating what she makes as an act of defiance and will make it a big deal and a sign that I’m going against her, I don’t love her, etc.

This is not true, I just want to stick to my protocol and continue my success. I’ve tried talking to her about it, but she thinks my weight loss efforts are in vain and doesn’t really want to talk to me or support me with it. Do you have any suggestions on how I can handle her visit? Thank you!
