New thoughts for future me who isn’t overweight

Hi Brooke,

I’ve been trying to brainstorm thoughts I’ll think once I’m at my goal weight, but the ones that keep coming up are scarcity thinking, such as “It’s going to be hard to keep this weight off” and “I can’t eat much.” Practicing those thoughts now or then isn’t going to be very helpful.

When I try to imagine what it would be like to be at my goal weight and truly believe that I’ll be able to maintain that weight permanently and with ease, I don’t think I’d be thinking re my weight very much at all (akin to the non-drinker not thinking about wine).

Right now, during the weight loss phase, my thoughts are “This is the year I lose 50 pounds” and “Everyday my body is getting healthier and stronger.” These are serving me right now but I anticipate they aren’t the thoughts I need for the long term.

Do you have any thoughts to suggest for future me who has lost the weight and is keeping it off? Thank you!
