Planned Exceptions

So you talk about moderation chatter, and how it’s often easier to cut something out completely than spending time and energy on planning when and how much you will consume. You say you can plan your exceptions if it’s worth it to you to go through that planning, but when I think of if it’s worth it to me, I think no way, what benefit could I possibly get from consuming this when I don’t desire it? If you get to a place where you don’t desire it at all, what reason do people continue to consume it anyways (consciously and planned)? I’m just curious on some reasons it would be worth it for others.
