I am trying to wrap my brain around when it is appropriate to question a thought or choose a different thought versus when to just allow the feeling that thought is causing. For example…
C: toys on living room flood
T: I should clean this up but I don’t want to
A: buffer with chocolate. Dont clean up.
R: Feel bad about house and chocolate
In this model is it more useful to question why I should clean up or why I dont want to? Or is it better to just allow the anxious feeling to be there without answering it?
