Stop Saying “Sorry” – CLR

Brooke,
I just bought a new salon business (and I love it by the way), and the seller has been working with me to show me the ropes. I knew from the beginning that managing stylists would be a challenge and I’m okay with that. The seller pointed out to me that I say “I’m sorry” all the time and she suggested that I get over that fast as the owner working with stylists. I totally agree with her. I realized that say sorry all the time and I think it’s such a bad habit. It puts me in a weak feeling position and I didn’t even realize it. I’ve been working with high level executives and corporate clients for years and I have a high level of confidence in what I have done for them. This is different though. I ran some models and I need help on changing them. Here’s what I have:

Model 1
C – I’m a new owner
T – I don’t know what I’m doing
F – insecure
A – I say “sorry” to my employees and everyone around me for no reason
R – Show weakness

I’m having trouble with what to change. Here’s where I get stuck
C – I’m a new owner
T – I need to learn and that’s okay
F – Growth/Challenge
A
R

I’m stuck. I really just want to train myself not to say “I’m sorry” all the time and break this terrible habit as a professional business women. You could probably do a whole podcast on this topic!
