Sweating and blushing

In the Power of Emotion workbook, it says, “The only time a feeling comes first is when it is an involuntary sensation, and this is extremely rare.”

Can you tell me more about involuntary sensations and some examples? Is sweating or blushing involuntary sensations?

Thank you.

Let’s think of it this way. A feeling is caused by a thought in the brain that creates a feeling in the body. (Thought: “He shouldn’t say that.” Feeling: Anger.)

A sensation starts in the body and might cause us to have a thought about it. (Involuntary sensation: fever in the body, Thought: I don’t feel well.)

Think about an involuntary sensation as a reflex reaction.
