Thought downloads feel like a negative practice

Hi Brooke, when I’m doing my thought downloads, I try to scan my brain for thoughts that could use changing or are bothering me. As a result, most of these are thoughts I don’t want to dwell on and find unproductive. I understand that doing the new intentional models helps resolve that, but I find that I spend more time trying to come up with these unproductive thoughts than I do changing them and by writing them down, I feel like I’m solidifying them in my brain. I’m finding that I often feel worse after doing my coaching work—and not in the “good” kind of discomfort that comes from self awareness. I feel like I’m reinforcing these “negative” thoughts. Am I doing this wrong?
