“How do I want to feel” as a guide to looking at thoughts?


Hearing/seeing you coach recently I am noticing that you don’t invite everyone to change their thoughts. Lands for me – and I want to understand this more clearly.

Is this accurate: 1) physically experience feeling
2) if indulgent emotion, find a different perspective*
3) if not indulgent, observe whether I am ready/wanting to let the feeling go

*or even if indulgent, sometimes need to wallow more?

Thanks! I had the thought last evening that perhaps I want to be angry about current President’s policies and that is why I can only maintain “moments of Zen” for short periods of time.

p.s.Also thanks for your response and sorry about asking a redundant question re fat/heart health. Didn’t occur to me that it would be a FAQ. 🙂
