You are as lovable as the person’s ability to love

This is a sentence in Terms and Concepts under Lovability.

“You are as lovable as the person’s ability to love.”

I understand the gist of the paragraph, but this sentence doesn’t make sense to me.

I am lovable no matter what, right?

And how much a person loves me is only based on their ability to love, right?

I feel like this is worded incorrectly….or is it? Help me understand- I’m super literal – lol.

Thanks!
