Bridge thought


I was out to dinner last night with my husband and he made a comment about how my nails were half polished and aren’t I embarrassed.

He said he was just joking but my thoughts were:

Wow that’s mean (creating the feeling of hurt)

Seriously dude, I have so much on my plate and you think I should be concentrating on getting my nails done! (creating the feeling of anger)

This morning I woke up and didn’t want yesterday to carry into today so my bridge thought was:

He gets to be stupid

Honestly that thought makes me feel better and makes me laugh

Is it ok to have a bridge thought like that as long as it makes me feel better, on my way to love for him?

I find humorous thoughts help me sometimes to bridge from one emotion to another.
