Circumstance re: academic grades

I had the great fortune of working with a 12yo on an intentional model yesterday. As I wrote it up for him and went on to further clarify the C, T, F, A, R, I started to state that the C is something we don’t have control over. But in this model it seems to me that the C is something we have control over. Perhaps I need to delineate the C in a different way or I am misunderstanding the C???

C – Academic grades – all A’s
T – I can do this
F – Confident
A – complete homework assignments on time, reduce pleasure reading time, calendar homework assignments and pleasure reading time, show up as my best “me” for homework & classes
R – I create academic grades of all A’s
