Clarification for Dare of the Day

If the point is to put ourselves in situations that may arouse embarrassment, rejection, and other negative emotions, should we also consider net negative consequences?

For example, I just started writing a book. My dare of the day could be send a query letter to an agent and offer to submit my manuscript to them. Although it is highly unlikely they will agree, what if they do agree and I am a year away from any manuscript written. Now I not only embarrassed myself but also come across as unprofessional. Shouldn’t there be dares we ought not do then?
