Confidence and "I know how"


Hi Coaches,

I’m doing Week 1’s work and seeing that for many of the things I’m confident in, my thought about them is “I know what to do” or “I know how to.” This is normal of course – we have more confidence in ourselves when we’ve shown ourselves our capability. But I don’t see how that helps me with things I haven’t done before. It sort of reinforces the idea that if I don’t know how (also just a thought – but what if I really don’t know how?) I can’t be confident.

What if I really don’t know how yet? How do I create confidence when I’ve never done the thing? I could practice the thought “I know how to do it” but if I don’t actually, it will fall flat. What would you say here?
