I set a weight loss goal at the beginning of the year to lose 5 lbs/month. I lost 8 lbs in January, so I decided to make my goal for February to lose 8 lbs from my January weight. It’s the last week of February, and I have 7 lbs to lose to meet my 8 lbs down from January weight.
My thought is that I’m going to switch back to my original goal of 5 lbs/month because I feel my thought of losing 8 lbs from my January weight feels too punishing.
This is an area where I’m switching my behavior or circumstance to avoid the feeling of failure instead of my thought. I know this is not the right approach.
I’d love your input on changing my thought here over changing my goal.
