I’m surprised to hear that ketchup or mayo with sugar added as a 4th ingredient or less is acceptable on protocol (or maybe I misread the post on ask Brooke?)
I had assumed that any form of added sugar or any form of flour would be what we cut out. To me that means ketchup too, which has high fructose corn syrup as a top 3 or 4 ingredient.
Ultimately I know it’s our choice, and I wouldn’t want to cut out sugar from fruit because I enjoy fruit and it helps with my sugar cravings, but I thought that added sugar should be eliminated whether we put it in the condiment ourselves or whether we buy it in a bottle at the store and someone else put it in there for us.
Would love your advice on this – or am I just being to strict with my thinking?
