Is buffering always related to avoiding something or can buffering be a tool to help you function faster or get through a tough task? For example, I have a drink or several at 5 pm to help me “get through” making dinner/chores/kids homework time in the evening. Or is it still avoidance? I’m not avoiding work because it’s still getting done but am I avoiding the discomfort of the tasks because the work is hard without the drink?
