Mother in law’s opinions

My MIL is a very kind soul, let me preface with that.

She’s 84 years old, grew up in a small Irish Catholic community.

She’s got some very fundamental beliefs and manuals.

Like women should not wear jeans.

Or second weddings should not be elaborate nor should the bride wear white.

Etc…

I am used to these opinions of hers, but still find myself debating her and trying to maybe change her mind?

Instead of disagreeing with her about the white wedding dress, I offered to her that it’s not proper to her because of her values and beliefs.

Because people can do whatever they want on their wedding day.

Should I have kept that to myself?

I’m in my early 40s, and my thoughts about her comments literally create fire inside of me!
