Past focus vs present and future focused!

I’m starting life coach school next month. I work at an emotional trauma center and they are very past focused which is frustrating to me because I believe there’s a lot of ruminating over what was. I’ve had fatigue thing on and off for years which I believe is emotionally related because there’s nothing physically wrong with me and I did have relief when I was in trauma therapy. My question is this;
Do I do TW and models to try and figure this out which is present and future focused or do I go back into therapy which is past focused? I know so much of this is thoughts but I’m really stuck. I see the benefit of both and I just want to make sure I’m not staying stuck in my story.
