I have worked very hard to have a home, kids and a husband. I know I don’t understand a single mum’s situation, but is there a polite way to ask about someone’s financial welfare? So that I can use my influence to help them?

I just want to eat everything and organize the whole house and avoid my family. I feel like a criminal for asking as my intent was interpreted to be rude and this person tried to get others on her side against me.
