Processing Emotion


I have understood so far that allowing emotion is about recognizing the emotion and naming it. It’s also about letting the emotion go through our body and describing it (temperature, speed, color…). Then we can also talk to our brain in a kind way and notice that the emotion is harmless.
Are there more things that we can do or tell our client to help him process an emotion? I’m thinking even more when it’s related to over-desire. What if it’s too difficult for our client to let the over desire be there?
