Self-coaching goes against intuition?

I am wondering where intuition comes into the model? Intuition usually comes from somewhere we can’t explain as there is no circumstance to even form a thought around (at least not immediately).

It seems we could even gaslight ourselves by trying to coach away the intuition.

“You’re crazy, he isn’t cheating.” When really he was and all we had to go on was that little “hunch” or intuition that we told ourselves to not pay attention to.

Or we see it often at a pediatric office with mothers. “I don’t know what’s going on but I think something is wrong with my child.” And often times there is despite the lack of immediate evidence.

Do we just always trust intuition even though there is no circumstance to form a model on?
