Too sensitive for news!


I have always been very sensitive and triggered by the news. Typically, I don’t watch or read it at all, but recently I have decided to stay informed so I can stay in the loop with the pandemic updates. Every time I read the news, I feel so much grief, upset, and disappointment over the state of the world, mass deaths, how our president is acting, police brutality, etc. I am doing my best to process the emotions (fear, rage, shock, etc.) but it feels all consuming and distracting. I feel like I only have two options – to be ignorant and live in my happy little bubble, or to be a responsible adult but in a constant state of upset. I know I’m oversimplifying, but cannot coach my way out of this. Help!
